Obverse: bust of Woodrow Wilson with a Torch and Fasces on either side. An American Eagle is below the portrait and there is a perimeter of Stars. WILSON

Reverse: depicts two female figures representing Britannia and Marianne welcome the female figure of America to the battlefield, while pointing to the Cathedral of Reims, in flames in the background. "LE DROITE EST PLUS PRÉCIEUX DE LA PAIX NOUS VOUS BATTONS POUR LA LIBERTÉ" (The Right is more precious than the Peace...We fight for Liberty).

René Grégoire was a sculptor, medalist and designer of stamps, born in Saumur on June 4 , 1871 and died in Paris (18th arrondissement ) in April 1945. He was a pupil of Hubert Ponscarme at the School of Fine Arts in Paris He was named Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1924
