The French Section was the largest pavillion, including the Mainland France Exhibition Building and the City of Paris Pavilion, the Overseas France Exhibition Building, the Colonies Exhibition Building, the Souks Exhibition Building, the Agriculture Pavilion and the Water and Forests Pavilion. France was also represented in the Ancient Art and Modern Art exhibits, and in the Model Railway Station, with representations of its railway networks.
Pierre Turin (1891-1968) French medallist, who trained as a steel engraver, studied medal engraving with Vernon and Patey, as well as sculpture with Coutan at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. Developed an outstanding reputation with medals in the Art Deco Style.
