From the New York Times of 24 June 1900 – Royal Dutch Naval Exhibition will be held in The Hague from July 15th to September 15th of this year. There will be portraits of eminent naval commanders, engravings of naval engagements, descriptions of voyages, charts, models of vessels, medals and personal mementos of eminent men, such as autographs, arms and decorations. The Queen of Holland has loaned part of one the palaces at The Hague for this purpose, has herself consented to become the lady patroness of the exhibition, and has ordered a medal to be struck, which will be presented to the owners of the most important articles exhibited
