Description

NEW BRUNSWICK 1904 Champlain Tercentenary 35mm white metal medal 12.93 grams holed for suspension

Struck by P.W. Ellis and Company, of Toronto, for R.H. Green and Son, uptown Saint John merchants. A contemporary newspaper account says that the committee chose the lower bidder, a Montreal firm, but perhaps there was some arm twisting and the committee relented in favour of a local businessman. The cost to the Committee was $313 for the entire order of bronze and "silver" coloured medals.
