ONTARIO Hamilton Canadian Numismatic Association 1957 36.6mm bronze medal 19.42 grams, Edge: BIRKS (CNA-4A)
This was the fourth convention of the CNA held in Hamilton on August 30th and 31st and hosted by the Hamilton Coin Club. The location was the Wentworth Arms Hotel, that was later destroyed by fire on Christmas Day 1976. The banquet speaker was J. Douglas Ferguson who talked about his "Memories of Fifty Years in Numismatics". Henry Birks & Sons of Toronto designed and struck the medal and then destroyed the dies. There was a mintage of 200 pieces in bronze and only two in silver - Ferguson was presented with one of the silver, and the other was an unauthorized example.
